Online Shopping

Prior to my NYC secondment, I was a bit of a skeptic when it came to online shopping. I had all these questions, how do I know this site is selling authentic stuff? How do I know delivery will indeed take place? How do I know it will fit? How do I know that no one won’t hack into my Account and abuse my credit card? All these I suppose are what through your head when you think online shopping.... Well let me put your mind at ease....

There is something called Google. And well, nothing in life is a guarantee so you might as well live a little. Just because you bought it at a shop doesn’t mean it will fit properly or that they won’t clone your card. Life is a gamble.

My guess is you want to buy branded clothes online or at least something that is not readily available in SA. Google the brand and it will lead you to their official website. If they don’t deliver in South Africa, they will re-direct you to another merchant who delivers internationally, mainly Net-a-Porter, Shopbop, and Neiman Marcus etc.

You already know your SA clothing size, use Google converter to look up either your US or your European size. If you are naturally a 10 don't be surprised if Google tells you to order a 6 in the US, rather embrace the smaller size youJ.

As for credit cards, these websites have firewalls and other computer thingies that make sure your information is secure.

So now you officially have no excuse why you are not keeping up with international trends... Bless the person who came up online shopping. And remember, not looking after yourself is the worst crime you can commit. There's only one you and you only get one shot at life don't waste it.
